Lumineers

Lumineers

Lumineers are designed to mask smile imperfections. Unlike traditional veneers, they are ultra-thin. At Dr. Marie A. Holliday, DMD, we use Lumineers made from porcelain to instantly improve your smile's appearance by bonding them to the front surface of your teeth.

Lumineers require little to no tooth preparation, so you won’t have to worry about having your teeth shaved down or drilled. Because they are so thin, Lumineers can be placed directly over your natural teeth. This makes them an excellent option for patients who do not want to undergo an extensive procedure or have sensitive teeth.

The Benefits of Lumineers

Minimally Invasive

Lumineers are extremely thin, and in many cases, they require little to no tooth reduction or drilling. This means the natural tooth structure can be preserved more than in the case of traditional veneers, which require more substantial tooth preparation.

Natural Appearance

Lumineers are made from high-quality porcelain that mimics the appearance of natural teeth. They are translucent and reflect light similarly to real teeth, providing a natural and aesthetically pleasing result.

Stain-Resistance

Porcelain is a stain-resistant material, meaning Lumineers are less likely to discolor or stain over time than natural teeth. However, it is still essential to maintain good oral hygiene to prevent staining and other dental issues.

How Do Lumineers Work?

One of the standout advantages of Lumineers is that they don't require extensive tooth preparation. In most cases, the dentist will start by taking an impression of your teeth, which will be sent to a dental laboratory to create your custom Lumineers.

Once your Lumineers are ready, you'll return to our dental office for the application. The dentist will ensure the Lumineers fit perfectly and comfortably over your teeth. If any minor adjustments are needed, they can be made at this stage.

Before permanently bonding the Lumineers to your teeth, the dentist will carefully clean and etch the surface of your teeth to create a secure bond. A special dental adhesive is then used to attach the Lumineers to your teeth. Once the Lumineers are securely in place, the dentist will make any final adjustments to ensure they fit naturally with your bite and give you the best possible smile.

Lumineers are a remarkable innovation in cosmetic dentistry, providing a non-invasive and effective way to achieve a flawless smile. Their ability to preserve natural tooth structure, aesthetic benefits, and long-lasting results make them attractive for those seeking a smile transformation.
